I believe the demand is quite big and not too many people are truly into growth (though growth marketing is pretty advanced position). A lot of traditional marketing roles are names growth these days. Why you should be performance marketer if you can be growth marketer with acquisition experience. It drives us to a place where people don’t really know what does growth marketer does and what should be he’s JD (it appears on both sides: marketer & company). A lot depends on your brand recognition too. Brands that people love have bigger changes to get best talents.

I believe it’s worth to specify what kind of profile you really need and than try to find a right person. Do you need a marketer with high analytical skills? Specify it on Job offer & maybe look for Data Scientists too. If you need someone with high marketing skills, try to look for Digital Marketers, maybe they’ll be happy to expand their skillset to other areas

Paid + SEO expertise is one of the smallest overlaps you can find in marketing, so that is prob part of why you cant find suitable takers.

@Karan, I agree. Somehow my CEO does not agree :slightly_smiling_face:

@DonovanOkang, useful. I think this JD should be changed to performance marketing.

Ask them if they want to swap titles with you and then they can write your team’s JD.

It sounds like you want someone to execute paid search and then be “fine” at managing other channels.

oh wait its all paid.

Yeah, i mean that’s just frankly a job not a lot of marketers are going to want to do.

They can read between the lines of what that job is, which is hey just do all of marketing and execute most of it and be really good it and and be really data driven.

And they can prob they are being set up to fail

If you’re ok with someone who’s pretty mediocre at all of it but willing to struggle mightily, then sure, I’d break that job up and take growth out of the title.
You need a marketing manager, and you need some execution folks. You already have a marketing team it sounds like, but they only do SEO? If you take the paid execution out of it, I think you can find this job pretty easily, or make it solely about the paid. That paid execution requirement is the hand grenade in the JD
