The question was rhetorical. I’m implying that there is no downtime because the PM should be conducting research on novel ideas that could end up being “projects,” “sprints,” or “experiments,” depending on what you want to call them. It does not follow that your entire future is blocked just because you are blocked on one aspect of your product.

There are a few things in “Expect to feel your presence”
- An unhealthy work environment. You must make an investment in a new PM if you are paying for them.
- You are not a “new” PM; the organization hired you based on your experience and anticipated that you would contribute your knowledge to the current issue.
Pay is what determines this. If it’s more than $120,000, you should look for issues and be willing to solve them; if it’s less, you should seek guidance.
