The goal is to get them to speak about a specific experience and from that you deduce what the pain points, wants/needs are… you should have specific questions of what you want to get answered but make them focus on a story w a specific instance…it takes time to effectively carry out interviews. Do not resort to asking for features or an assessment of your product - the value is in getting answers to your core product questions by having them tell you about their experience. Hope that helps
