I was on the interview panel for new PMs and APMs at a former company. There was one other PM on the panel with me and we used to joke about how we weren’t even qualified for the APM role based on the postings they put out. We tried to get recruiting to change it to be more realistic and it never happened.
For reference we were at a mid-size company and between the two of us we were managing 8 dev teams and a couple of APMs. Funny how you don’t need an MBA for a position that most companies would consider to be a group PM, but you did need one to get an interview for an entry level role on the team.
